A frontend developer is a universal soldier. He can wrap the layout, build the web application, and, if necessary, master the server part. You have to know a lot: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JS libraries and frameworks, CSS preprocessors and frameworks, version control systems and taskrunners, backend technologies, unit testing and a lot more.
Besides, soft skills will be useful: cooperation with people and teamwork, ability to establish an effective workflow and solve tasks in the most optimal way. A confident knowledge of English will also be required.
The pay for a front-end specialist is quite decent, and the more skills – the higher the chances of getting a “fat” salary.
Anyone who is willing to learn can become a front-end developer: As we have found out, it is difficult to rely on a college education. Various online and offline courses + literature on the topic, practice, and the great Google are ideal.
Netology is launching a full-fledged training program for front-end specialists – “The Profession of Front-end Developer”. This 6-month course is devoted to the basic technologies of front-end development: HTML and CSS, JavaScript, Web API, AJAX, web sockets, React library.
At the end of the course students will create their own one-page web application. Training is conducted by 10 practicing frontend specialists – this allows you to get a comprehensive understanding of the tools and tasks of frontend development. During the entire course, students will get at least 100 practical tasks, as close as possible to “combat”, and will realize 3 medium-sized projects and 1 complete project as a graduation thesis.
